P AM 2009 Sept 21- 26,2009
VANCOUVER, BC - ASTORIA, OR - SAN FRANCISCO, CA - LOS ANGELES, CA
In 2005 I decided to try something different with the annual convention. Instead of traveling to some hotel on the Pacific Rim to host the event, I invited everyone to join me on the Norwegian Star which had been my home away from home for several years.
It was a wonderful convention and by all accounts my guests all said it was one of the finest magic events they had every attended. Even more interesting was the number of spouses who thanked me for having a convention they could enjoy too!
That brings me to 2009. I will be taking PCAM back to sea on board the newest ship in NCL’s fleet. The Norwegian Pearl is a magnificent vessel with everything you could possibly want from a five star hotel ... and more!
I invite you to join me and 200 other friends as we travel from Vancouver to Los Angeles for a few great day of incredible fun. I will once again be using the format of booking only a few select acts to each present their full length shows. I think this worked very well in 2005 and the acts I have in mind for 2009 will certainly be outstanding!
Registration is limited and the cutoff date to book your cruise is April 30th!

FAQ
In an attempt to explain to those that did not cruise with us in 2005 I am writing this short section of Frequently asked questions:
Why do you have to book through Merit Travel?
PCAM is a group booking on the vessel and anyone who wishes to take part in the events of the group must be in the group. To be a part of the group you must book through a single travel agency.
Do you make money off our booking through Merit Travel?
I save money and so do you! I negotiated the cruise rate myself and got the best deal possible. The travel agent gets a commission for the sale. I will get a small percentage of that small commission to use towards the talent fees, paying for their plane tickets, hotel rooms the night before the cruise, their extra cargo expenses and their cabins. Yes, they don’t get to cruise for free ... you and I pay for that ... Here is what I do get ... A free cabin for every 16 cabins that are double booked. That means if I were to sell 100 cabins I get 6 free cabins for the talent. That means I need to sell out the event or I am paying out of pocket to have the acts cruise.
Why do we need to be in the PCAM Group? Won’t the shows be available to all the passengers?
NO, the shows are not available to the passengers of the Norwegian Pearl. they are booked by PCAM and are intended for the viewing of my paid PCAM guest and no one else. There will also be lectures, contests and social events that are strictly for the PCAM group.
I’m a little nervous about cruising in the ocean? Is it safe?
NCL has a super great safety record. Our cruise is at an ideal time of the year and the Pacific Coastal cruise is generally always calm. I can’t guarantee it to be as smooth as glass, that’s up to the weather! I can tell you that at no time will be more than approximately one mile from land ... ok sometimes that land is straight down! (that’s a joke folks ...)
How much is food when we are onboard?
FREE ... In the main dining rooms, cafes and even your cabin. There are speciality restaurants with cover charges and I do recommend trying one or two on the voyage. The cover charges are nominal and the quality is exceptional.
Do I work for NCL?
Well at the time of this writing ... NO. But I used to as a magician and I know you will love their product. By the time this cruise takes place I just may be working for them again ... who knows?
When should we book our return flight tickets?
Good question. As it stands I am going to negotiate a reduced rate for us to attend Magicopolis on the Saturday afternoon for their matinee. Those that book this will pay a price that includes bus service from the ship to a hotel, onto the show and return to the hotel. I will try to get a deal at the Magic hotel and Highland Gardens so in the evening folks can just walk up the hill to visit the Castle. IBM and SAM members are allowed in free to the Castle and those that are not will be given guest passes from me during the cruise. Guest passes require the user to dine and pay a cover charge to enter.
You will be required to arrange your own transportation to the airport.
